Back from Mars–I mean New York

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Just got back from NY and Janice and I actually got some Galaxy Girl work done (thank you again, Janice!!) Here are some Mars poses in both sketch and final form.

And for those of you who are curious, here are some pictures of the Foster’s float in New York!! We had fun even though it rained.

Mr. Herriman was on the back of float and couldn’t be seen on the performance on TV. Here he is trying desperately to keep dry before the parade.

Ed all wrapped up.

Coco!!

For those of you who didn’t catch it, here it is!! The camera work left a little bit to be desired, but the puppets turned out great and the house is GORGEOUS!! (Thanks to Sparky of Never Forgotten for recording and posting the performance)

Foster’s Float – Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2006

Hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was as good as mine!

Sorry it’s been a while. Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to on the Galaxy Girl front.

1. Earrings
These are all in defferent stages of completion. Some are new, and some are smaller versions of ones I’ve already done.

2. Wheels
Well, I haven’t been up to these, but my Moms have! I stencilled these, then my Mother-in-law, Eva, sewed them all together and stuffed, then my Mom, Karen, stitched them shut and embroidered them. It was tons of work and very time consuming!!! I am so grateful to have help from talented people I trust (and love!) Thanks Moms!!!

3. Photo shoot
Here’s Mars posing for the camera! Hi-res photos like these will be used for a number of things in the future- website, pitches, ads. Plus, they’ll look cool. Mars’ portraits will be added to Milky’s, Venus’, Jupiter’s and Pluto’s, which were all shot a while back. I’ll put up finals when they are ready.

I’m heading off to New York in a few days to see the Foster’s float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade (Yay!) So there may be another wait before new posts. The Uranus rag doll is dangerously close to being completed, so she’ll be up next.

Happy Thanksgiving, you American Earthlings!
