Two and a half years in the making…

THE GALAXY GIRLS, COMPLETE RAG DOLL SET!!!! Seriously, I made the very first doll in late 2005, and I finished the last girl just now!! (Please, please PLEASE click on the pic for a larger view.)

…and here she is, the final G-Girl: MERCURY!!!

Mercury’s track suit is made of lame (no, not lay-m, LA-MAY…) so it’s all shiny like the chemical, Mercury– y’know, the stuff in thermometers. Her little hoodie that’s wrapped around her waist comes off and fits! (Except the hood itself, which would have to be HUGE…)

I’m CRAZY-happy at how here hair turned out!! 2 other girls, Mars and Neptune, have sculpted hair, but Mercury’s was a lot harder to figure out, and I’m just thrilled with how it looks!! I had to do it 3 times to get it right.

Unlike all the other girls, the symbols on her shoes are all 3-D instead of just painted on flat. So her shoes are all like the Roman God, Mercury– y’know, the guy with wings on his sandals ’cause he’s all fast and stuff.

Here’s a close up on the hand-embroidered details.

I don’t know what to do with myself now that they’re all done!! Not really, I’m horribly swamped with stuff to do. I think I may start doing some drawing again. Plus, I have doll orders to fulfill— back to the sewing machine!
