MERCURY APPROVED: LETS SEE YOU BOYS DO THIS!

Friday, February 19th, 2010

merKaren Queally has always set goals in life. According to her, it is what keeps her motivated. So when she reached her milestone of 50 marathons before turning 50 years of age, Karen needed a new goal: another 50 marathons before turning 60! And this past October, at age 57, she did just that.

At this point, you would think she would take a long awaited rest, but not Karen. She hasn’t missed a day of running in 13 years, even when she had a mastectomy and chemotherapy for breast cancer in 2005. “When I think of the lengths I’ve gone in order to assure a daily run, I can’t find any excuse to miss a day”.

Way to go, Karen! Keep on blazing a celestial trail for all women and girls out there who love to get in their daily dose of exercise.

10 year old receives Medal of Bravery

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

bravery-medal-cp-8068797

Back in March of 2007, eight year old Kelsey Roy and her mother were enjoying a winter outing along the Mississippi Lake in Canada until disaster struck. Unaware of where she was walking, Kelsey’s mother, Karin, fell through the ice covering the lake and into deadly frigid waters.

Fearing she would suffer the same fate, Karin pleaded for her daughter to leave, but Kelsey refused. Instead she crawled along the thin ice, grabbed her mother, and pulled her to safety. Afterwards, Kelsey said, “I just knew that I couldn’t let my Mom go under.”

This past Thursday, Kelsey was awarded a Medal of Bravery by Ontario’s Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean.

We here at MWGG Central Control would also like to commend Kelsey on this extraordinary act of bravery. Her courage in the face of danger is a trait that all cadets of the Girlaxy can admire.

To Girls who like rock, we salute you!

FAVORITE TOYS MAKE A BETTER YOU!

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

We all have a favorite toy. Whether still in our possession or one we remember fondly, a favorite toy will always have a special place in our hearts. We develop a very personal relationship with these toys and, according MIT psychologist Sherry Turkle, these objects do have an impact on the kind of person we will eventually become.

Click on this link to find out how a plush My Little Pony doll helped little Christine Alvarado develop math skills that would help her later in life as a computer scientist.

TOLD YOU SO!

fr_mw_postcards_11plPluto doesn’t need CNN.com to tell her that she is “not simply a ball of ice and rock.”

In 2006 a group of international scientists took Pluto’s planet status away from her saying she was too small and distant to be apart of our Solar System. But now new pictures, taken by the Hubble Telescope, show that there is more to this dwarf planet than meets the eye. Check out her new “glamour shots” taken just before Pluto goes on her 248- year orbit around the Sun.

And please note: planet or dwarf planet, Pluto doesn’t care. She is happy with who she is regardless of what a group of “international scientists” has to think about her.

More and more recruits keep coming in to join the Solar Sisterhood. And even though the limited edition Series 1 Dolls are still only available at FAO Schwarz here stateside on planet Earth, doesn’t mean that the Galaxy Girls don’t have their fans overseas.

Check out this new recruit from New Zealand! Unable to get her hands on the FAO dolls, this Space Cadet was able to pick up a one of a kind Milky Way Chibi from the Solar Sisterhood Etsy Page.

Cadet, welcome to the Girlaxy!

Also, we here at MWGG Central Control do not discriminate during the recruitment process. We accept all who are willing regardless of gender, race, color, creed, planetary origin, and even species!

Kitty-cadet BeBe, welcome to the Girlaxy!

Thanks again to all new recruits who have submitted pictures with their favorite GGirl doll. Still haven’t submitted a picture yet? Well what are you waiting for? Just send a picture to Mother Earth and we’ll put you up on our blog.

And if you’re in the neighborhood, make sure to check out MWGG Recruitment Centers on planet Earth at FAO New York and Las Vegas, and at our brand new recruitment center at the base of the largest volcano in the Solar System- Olympus Mons, Planet Mars.

That’s right Martians, you’re the ones who are being invaded.
