It’s the most wonderful time of the year… to get your read on!

Once again, Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls will be invading the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Being held this weekend (April 24th – 25th) on the beautiful UCLA campus, this festival is one of the largest literary events in the world.

A few events being held at the festival are special lectures by authors, book signings and reviews, poetry readings, as well as story-telling and live performances on the children’s area stage.

So come on by and check us out. We are in the children’s book section- Booth 854.

And, as a special bonus, those at the festival who buy a Galaxy Girl Doll online at our booth will get an original MWGG illustration by creator Lauren Faust!

For more details, please visit the Festival of Books website.

Hope to see you there!

JUPITER APPROVED: ALL NATURAL COSMETIC BRAND CREATED BY 15 YEAR OLD CEO!

When Ava Anderson was 14 she and her mother read a report from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) about hazardous chemicals found in cosmetics and skin care products. She was shocked to learn that almost all products that marketed themselves as “organic”, “natural”, and “pure” still had toxins and chemicals that were hazardous to the body.

So what did Ava do about it? At the age of 15, with the help of family and friends, Ava created her own company and launched the first full line of non-toxic skin care and cosmetics. One that is all-natural, environmentally conscience, and does not test on animals!!!

Ava Anderson Non-Toxic has six skin care products (cleanser, moisturizer, toner, exfoliator, sugar lip scrub, and eye makeup remover) and sells lipstick and lip gloss that all score a “zero” on the Cosmetic Database Toxicity Scale. And with more products on their way (foundation, blush, bath and body, and even a line for babies and men), the sky is the limit for this young, idealistic, entrepreneur.

Way to go Ava! The universe needs more women like you who are promoting healthy, all natural, lifestyles.

Environmentally Yours,

Jupiter

Ever wish you could catch a glimpse of what only future space cadets will get to see? Well now you can thanks to Scientific America and the art of Hugo Award winner Ron Miller. Clink on this link to view “Eight Wonders of the Solar System”.

Check out the Rings of Saturn (and the sounds of Saturn’s Popcorn Party!), the sunrise on Mercury, Jupiter’s Red Spot (no, not her bindi), and many more interactive landscapes and marvels that our Solar System has to offer.

It’s the best tour of space you can get without a pair of jet powered, solar-roller skates!

Once again, congratulations goes to this little Space Cadet who won the “New Recruits” Holiday Photo Contest. As a result, the cadet won an original, one of a kind, illustration—of her favorite galaxy girl, Venus—by MWGG creator Lauren Faust.

Check out the cute pic, above, of the victor and her spoils, and plan on making return trips back to the blog. Announcements from MWGG Central Control will be made regarding more “out of this world” contests, news about the Ggirls Dolls, festival appearances, martian landings, and all that encompasses the girlaxy.

End Communication,
